CSYO assembles three times a year usually during school holidays for training courses and concerts. Membership is open to local players under 21 years of age, subject to audition.

Send in a completed application form at any time although it would be prefered if you could send it at the beginning of the academic year, that is, by late September. Main auditions are held in late October/early November. The prepared material will be emailed out approximately 2 weeks prior to the audition.

You need to be of a minimum standard, indicated on the application form. The auditions are unfortunately competitive. We sometimes find ourselves auditioning musicians, all of whom would be technically, and musically suitable, but unfortunately there are only limited places to fill in an orchestra.

Auditions were held during November 2012, however further applications may be considered throughout the year should there be the relevant vacancy. There are currently vacancies is several sections of the orchestra particularly the string section, bassoon and tuba.
