Following the huge success of our Alumni Celebration in the 40th birthday year, we are doing it again! If you weren't able to take part the first time this is your chance! We invite alumni to re-join the current orchestra to perform Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique! We want to celebrate the legacy that CSYO has left by celebrating you, the people that have made the orchestra what it is: a vibrant and rich environment for young people to flourish.
By taking part in the concert we ask you to become advocates for securing the future of this well-loved institution by committing to fundraising or making a minimum donation of £50 to kick off our annual fundraising campaign and help us reach our target of £20,000.
Or if you have any questions, get in touch by emailing Gemma Wareham on gemma@csyo.org.uk
Deadline to sign up: Friday 22nd September, after which we will be in touch to confirm your place.
The orchestra will rehearse between 27th and 29th December at Ecclesall Church Halls. Alumni rehearsals will take place between the following times and we would be grateful for full commitment to these rehearsals:
Thursday 28th 10am - 5pm
Friday 29th 10am - 5pm
Attendance on the 27th is also welcome but not required.
The concert itself will take place on Saturday 30th December at 7.30pm with a dress rehearsal at 2.00pm at Ecclesall Church. The concert will be followed by a post-concert alumni party and fundraiser at the church halls, an opportunity to catch up with friends and musicians past and present, to which you are cordially invited!
We have places available in all sections but particularly strings, brass and percussion, so please do sign up by clicking the 'Take Part' button. We will then be in touch to confirm your place. We anticipate a significant response to this opportunity and want to clarify that even if you are unable to join us at this stage, you are more than welcome to attend the concert and join us for the after party. To avoid exceeding the capacity of the stage, there will be a limit to the number of performers, but we are keen to ensure that every decade is represented.
