Friends of CSYO
Virtually none of the activities and achievements mentioned on this website would have been possible without the ongoing support of parents and friends - practically and financially. The Friends of the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra Ltd. is a body which oversees the financial structures of the CSYO and offers practical help at courses and concerts as well as having an advisory role in future planning.
The foundation of the FCSYO as a limited company and then its achievement of Charitable status gave it a firm base from which to ensure that no regular member was prevented from attending courses and tours for financial reasons. Siblings pay a reduced rate, and in its efforts to subsidise those who can demonstrate a financial difficulty it has received valuable support from the Church Burgesses.
Anyone can become a Friend, not just parents of present members. If you feel able to help the orchestra in this way, please contact Edward Woodhead.
If you are able to offer practical help on the courses or at the concerts, selling programmes or tickets, or helping to make tea (!) - please contact our front of house manager, Andrew Ash. All offers of help are gratefully received.
